Educational Resources for learning about Indigenous Peoples in Canada

Since contact and all the generations that followed, Canadians were taught great untruths about Indigenous peoples, their history, cultures, and the Crown’s intentionality to wipe them out.

Today, Canadians, parents, teachers, and learners across the country are willing to unlearn old lessons and prejudices, discovering new truths and perspectives. Together, the need to guide the next generation to a deeper understanding of our shared history, the impact of colonialism and racism, as well as the resilience of Indigenous cultures and communities in Canada is paramount for our collective future. I have compiled some educational resources for home school learners and any other learners, teachers, and support persons to access to ensure authentic resources in their educational spaces.
